Evaluation involves both a written exam and a practical evaluation in the field.
We strongly encourage applicants to take the written exam, proctored by a NABC certified trainer,
prior to the practical evaluation in the field.

The Black Swamp Bird Observatory is hosting an NABC certification session at the Bander
level for up to six candidates and possibly at the Trainer level at the Black Swamp Bird Observatory offices
and Ottawa NWR, Ohio. Applications may be obtained from and submitted to Tom Bartlett

An additional charge of$20 per person is needed for supplies and snacks.

encouraged to contact an NABC Trainer to proctor the written examination portion of the certification
prior to coming to BSBO (passage of the written portion is required before the October 28-29 practical session may
be taken)
