North American Banding Council (NABC)
Memorial for Glen Woolfenden

Glen Woolfenden, the long-time AOU representative to the NABC, passed away June 19, 2007. Glen was one of the original supporters of the NABC and was important in garnering support from the ornithological community for this endeavor.  He served on the publications committee from its inception and chaired that committee for several years.  The NABC publications benefited greatly from his superb editing skills.  On his trip to the 2007 NABC meeting in McAllen, Texas, Glen saw his 700th North American bird in South Texas, and he enjoyed several more life birds in Mexico during a post-meeting trip to Gomez Farias.  He is pictured above just after he saw a Sungrebe on the Rio Frio, Tamaulipas, Mexico (photo courtesy of Mel Pineda). Those of us who worked with Glen will miss his humor, professionalism, and attention to detail.
